What are eyelash extensions?
The lashes are individual synthetic strands, of varying thickness, curvature and length that replicate a natural eyelash. They are bonded to each individual eyelash, look natural and feel weightless. On average between 75 and 100 are applied to each eye; this can be greater depending on the look required and the client's own lashes. Xtreme lashes are soft and comfortable to wear and will not damage your natural lashes. They will naturally darken lashes and make them fuller and more visible. One advantage is not to need to wear mascara,however a speacially formulated mascara is available to purchase.
If cared for properly, the lashes can last for up to 2 months without touch-ups.(This would involve using recommended products)
Is there any preparation needed prior to treatment?
Yes - all make-up must be thoroughly removed using non-oily products. Contact lenses MUST be removed and cannot be worn again for 24hrs after the procedure.
What happens during the procedure?
Following a consultation the eyelashes are thoroughly cleansed and anti-ageing eye pads are applied under the eyes. The lashes are isolated one at a time and the extension attached. The prodecure for a natural set, which is carried out with the client lying down with eyes closed, takes approx 2.5 hours, during which time the client should take the opportunity to relax as speech is not permitted. An Xtreme set takes up to 3 hours.
What happens following the procedure?
For the first 24 hours clients will not be able to:
- Apply creams, lotions, cosmetics - including mascara - to the eyes
- Touch the lashes and/or rub the eyes
- Wear contact lenses
- Enter a steam room or sauna
- Swim or exercise
- Wash hair
- Tan
What about removal or infills?
A touch-up is needed to replenish the lashes that have completed their life cycle (a natural lash sheds every 60-90 days). This is a much shorter procedure. If using recommended products the lashes can last for up to 2 months without touch-ups. The eyelash extensions can be removed at any time by the Xtreme Lashes professional.

Who is the practitioner?
Carolyn Neilson, a qualified beauty professional, ran her own business for 13 years. She now specialises in eyelash extensions using premium products from Xtreme Lashes - the recognised global leader in eyelash extensions, with whom she trained. She holds a Certificate in Advanced Training from them.
